The software is part of the GP Manager and must be activated by a GeBioM employee. If you have purchased the GP Manager together with the GP EasyScan module, the module should already be activated.
If you have just purchased the GP EasyScan module, the module can be activated subsequently in a support session; the computer requires an Internet connection for this.
The hardware for GP EasyScan consists of a 3D camera that enables the computer to measure an object and visualise it in 3 dimensions. At the moment (as of 23 February 2016), only the Kinect camera from Microsoft is supported.
The module GP EasyScan is used to create impact foams or plaster casts as a 3D model. If the module is activated and correctly configured, the GP Manager start screen displays an icon for GP EasyScan is displayed. Click on the icon to open the GP FootMeasure module with the preselection "KinectScan" started.
A Kinect camera must be installed on the computer for the module to work.
Due to the sophisticated calculation of the 3D model, the module GP EasyScan increased requirements for the graphics card. For this reason, we recommend using at least one of the Nvidia graphics cards listed below in addition to the system requirements for the GP Manager.
A slow graphics card leads to poor 3D measurements, which in the worst case are unusable for further work.
The CUDA cores of the graphics card are crucial for a smooth/high-quality 3D image. Their clock rate should be higher than 200 MHz; the value can be found in the technical details of the graphics cards.
Due to the computing power required, we generally recommend the use of desktop PCs.
