Error description

The error message "Access denied" is displayed when establishing a serial Bluetooth connection.

Cause of error

The security settings of your Windows are set so that the current user has no authorisation to access the Bluetooth connection.

Troubleshooting

You must give the current user the rights to use the "Bluetooth Support Service".

Start the Windows service manager. To do this, proceed as follows.

  1. Select the start menu at the bottom left.

Error description

The MultiSens pressure measuring plate is recognised by Windows. The driver is installed correctly, but measurement is still not possible.

Cause of error

The Visual Studio Redistributable packages are required to operate the GP Manager. If these are not installed, the GP Manager will not function correctly.

Troubleshooting

Make sure that all Visual Studio Redistributable packages are installed. These can be found in the folder GpTools in your GP Manager installation. The corresponding folder names in which the installation files are located, start with Vcredist. If you do not know where your GP Manager is installed, read on: How to find your GP Manager installation.

Error description

The uEye camera is no longer recognised.

Cause of error

All USB CMOS cameras with the old interface board are no longer supported from driver version 3.10 onwards.

Troubleshooting

Make sure that your camera is not affected by the update. You can check this using the serial number. If this is less than 400 26 27000, your camera will not be compatible with driver versions >3.10.

Alternatively, you can start the "USBHardwareCheck" programme from the installation CD. This will show you whether your camera is compatible with driver versions >3.10.

If your camera is not compatible with driver version >3.10, you can continue to use your previous driver (up to driver version 2.40). In this case, you must not update the driver!

Attention: If you are using GP Manager version 7 or higher, then must the uEye driver from version 4.72 use!

Error description

When trying to open a customer, the message appears that the customer is blocked. The customer cannot be opened

Causes of errors

The GP Manager only allows one instance of a customer to be edited at a time. If a customer is edited on several workstations at the same time, changes to the customer may be overwritten later.

It may happen that the customer is not released again due to a crash during processing.

Troubleshooting

If you are sure that you are the only one making changes to the customer, you can unblock the customer.

Attention:
If the customer is processed on two computers, this can lead to data loss for this customer. Make sure that the customer is not opened twice.

GP Manager V7

  1. Start the GP Manager
  2. Select "GP Admin
  3. Select "Unblock customer
  4. In the dialogue you can see the workstations and the customers who are currently processing them.
  5. Select the workstation that is currently processing your customer.
  6. Click on "Unlock

  1. Start the GP Manager
  2. Select File -> Database
  3. In the lower area, you can select the work centres that currently have customers open.

You use the GP Manager on several computers and want all computers to access the same data record.

Causes of errors

The GP Manager uses a Microsoft SQL Express database, in which customer data such as name, date of birth and customer number are stored. The measurements are also assigned to the customers in the database.

If each computer uses its own database, then the computers cannot find the customers among themselves.

Troubleshooting

To set up the database, you must create exceptions for ports 1433 and 1434 in the firewall. Alternatively, you can enable the service and run the SQLBrowser.exe.

You have installed the GP Manager on a server or workstation and have settings for several workstations.

A link to the GP Manager can be created on the server for each individual workstation. The folder name with the INI files for the measuring room is also transferred to the link.

  1. Open the folder in which the GP Manager is installed (default setting: C:\GeBioM_SQL resp. C:\GPM_V7).
  2. Make a Right click on the GpMan.exe and select "Send to" -> "Desktop (create shortcut)
  3. You should now see a shortcut on your desktop with the name "GpMan.exe - Shortcut" are located.

Windows 10 requires the latest versions of DirectX and the graphics card drivers to function.

Troubleshooting

  • Install the latest version of DirectX
    • You can download the DirectX installation routine in the subfolder .\GpTools\Directx find. The setup file is called dxwebsetup.exe (How to find your GP Manager installation). You need Internet access for the installation to work.
  • Run from the .\GpTools\Directx the individual Visual Studio Redistributable packages again (Vcredist_2008_SP1, Vcredist_2010, Vcredist_2013).
  • Update the driver for your graphics card

Error description

Orders that have already been milled are not or no longer displayed.

Causes of errors

Either the list has not been updated or there are too many completed jobs in the subfolder .\GpData\Fraese\Files\Done

Troubleshooting

  • Firstly, update the list. To do this, start the GP Manager.
  • GP Manager V7

  • Delete all or some of the files stored there or move them.
  • Restart the GP Manager and display the list again.

You should delete completed orders at regular intervals. You can do this either directly in GP InsoleFraese by selecting the jobs you want to delete and choosing "Remove jobs". Or by deleting the files from the .\GpData\Fraese\Documents\Delete completed.

Causes of errors

The error only affects the GP Manager from version 7, older versions are not affected by this problem.

There is an incompatibility between GP Manager V7 and the "AMD Gaming Evolved" programme from Raptr.

The programme is supplied together with AMD Radeon graphics cards and is installed when the graphics card driver is updated.

Troubleshooting

The "AMD Gaming Evolved" programme must not run in the background while working with the GP Manager. Exit the programme if it is running.

  • Prevent the programme from starting automatically. Open the programme and select the small tool key in the top right-hand corner of the window.
