Why does the GP Manager crash in the GP CAD module?

Error description

GP Manager crashes without an error message when clicking on "Main window" or when switching to the start page. GP Manager may also crash when switching between different functions.

Cause of error

The latest versions of DirectX are not installed.

Troubleshooting

Install the latest version of DirectX.
You can download the DirectX installation routine from the support page:
-> Downloads -> Software -> GP Manager Installation -> DirectX -> dxwebsetup.exe

Once you have downloaded the application, please run it.

You will need Internet access for the installation to work.

Change images and text of the shoes in the shoe selection

from version 7.3

All settings for the shoes can be found here: ..GpSystem\SKIN\GPManager\SKIN_TP_FILIALE\INLOCATIONS\SHOES

The images of the shoes must be stored in the folder GpSystem\SKIN\GPManager\SKIN_TP_FILIALS\INSTORES\SHOE\SHOE TYPE. The reference to the images and the shoe selection is then specified here: GpSystem\SKIN\GPManager\SKIN_TP_FILIALE\INLOCATIONS\SHOE\Shoe types.INI

T_1 can be used to define a name for a shoe. If an image is also to appear for this name, the reference to an image file must be stored via File_1. The corresponding image must be stored here as a jpg file:

The dimensions of the file must be square. e.g.: 100 Px * 100Px
Larger than 200*200 is not worthwhile, as the image is only displayed very small anyway.

Please make sure that the shoe images are not too large so that the page loading time remains short.

Windows 10 1803 - No SQL connection - LaserScan 3D f cancels

Error description

  • After updating Windows 10 to 1803, the connection to the SQL server fails.
  • The LaserScan 3D f fails to connect during the scan

Cause of error

The GP Manager is started from a network share. For example, from a network drive or a server. The server itself only supports the Samba protocol in version 1.X.

Microsoft has categorised older versions of the Samba protocol as insecure. In order to avoid security risks, it appears that programmes started from a network drive with older versions are not given access to the network.

Troubleshooting

First, you should run a PowerShell with administrator rights. To do this, open the Start menu and enter "PowerShell". You can then right-click on the PowerShell and select the "Run as administrator" option.

You can then execute the "Get-SmbConnection" command in PowerShell. This gives you the Samba version (dialect) of all connected network drives. If the GP Manager share has a version of 1.X, the error occurs.

To rectify the error, proceed as follows:

  1. Update your server so that it supports a more recent version of the Samba protocol or :
  2. Copy the GP Manager from the server to the local computer (the computer with Windows 10 (1803)).

Server relocation

GP Manager SQL:

If the GP Manager suddenly tries to access the old server again after a server move, even though the new server is entered in the INI folder in GPSQL.ini, this behaviour of the software may be due to the fact that there is still an "old" GPSQL.ini in a single-user folder. The old GPSQL.ini can be renamed/deleted. The GP Manager should then access the new server again.
