How do I shorten the warm-up phase on my Plustek?

Error description

The Plustek scanner takes a long time to warm up. Before a scan, the scanner stands still for a long time before it starts.

Cause of error

The Plustek scanner works with a fluorescent tube. This requires a certain amount of time to reach maximum brightness.

Troubleshooting

You can start the scan without warming up the tube first. To do this, you must change some values in the Windows registry. This should only be done by experienced users.

  • Select Windows key + R and enter in the dialogue "regedit" in.
  • Open the path: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" -> "Software" -> "Plustek" -> "261u" -> "VxD" -> "VID_07b3&PID_0c20" -> "Add-On„
  • The one for "WARMUPTIME" indicates the time in seconds that the scanner waits to warm up.
