Installation

Before connecting the platform you need to install either the program „GP Manager“ or „GP Manager_SQL“ from the CD as it contains the driver in a packed format. You find the Multisens_MS4 (USB 2.0) driver on the following path: C:\GeBioM_SQL\GPTOOLS\TREIBER\PSAA_USB2\DRIVER (The part of the path printed in italics is the standard path for the installation. If an alternative path has been chosen in the installation, you need to insert it above).

Driver Installation:

Following the successful software installation you connect the platform to the grid. Now connect the platform to the PC using the USB cable.

After a short while, the operating system recognizes a new device and the hardware assistant is started. (Please wait for this dialogue box; it takes up to 20 seconds before it appears).

Please select the option „Not now“ in the dialogue box. Then click on „continue„. In the following dialogue box please activate the option „software from a list…„. Then click on „continue„.

In the following dialogue box please only activate the option „also the following sources…„. Then click on the „browse“ button and insert the path above. (For MS4: C:\GeBioM_SQL\GPTOOLS\TREIBER\PSAA_USB2\DRIVER). You can also insert the path manually. Then click on „continue„. Please click on „continue installation„.

ATTENTION:
The installation is possibly not yet finished. Should the hardware assistant pop-up anew, please redo steps 3 to 8.

Known Installation Error and Help
The installation was carried through using the welcome-window of the hardware assistant and the option „Automatically install software…„.

Result: The installation failed. In the device manager, the device is denoted as ‚other device‘ (or in the USB-area) and carries an exclamation mark. Help: Click on the USB-device in the device manager, then choose „update driver…“ and follow the installation instructions above.

Installation

  1. Zuerst wird die Software von der mitgelieferten CD installiert. Dieses ist notwendig, da sich alle Treiber für die Hardwarekomponenten in gepackter Form auf der CD befinden und erst nach der Installation von der Festplatte aus genutzt werden können. Legen Sie die CD in ein CD-ROM Laufwerk ein. Der Start der Installation erfolgt automatisch. Befolgen Sie anschließend die Installationsanweisungen.
  2. Nach Abschluß der Installation wird der Empfänger mit dem PC über das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel an eine USB-Schnittstelle (unbedingt USB 2.0) angeschlossen.
  3. Das Gerät wird nun vom Betriebssystem als neues Gerät erkannt und es wird der Hardwareinstallationsassistent von Windows aufgerufen.
  4. In der ersten Dialogbox muss der Punkt „Software von einer Liste oder bestimmten Quelle installieren…“ aktiviert werden. Dann „Weiter“ anklicken.
  5. In der folgenden Dialogbox wird die Option „Diese Quellen nach dem zutreffendsten Treiber durchsuchen“ mit dem Kontrollkästchen „Folgende Quellen ebenfalls durchsuchen:“ ausgewählt. Dann wird den Pfad „C:\GeBioM_SQL\GPTools\Treiber\Funk“  Ordner für Funk-Treiber) über „Durchsuchen“ einstellen. Dann „Weiter“ anklicken.
  6. Die folgenden Dialogboxen bestätigen bzw. fortsetzen.
  7. In der Abschlussbox wird nun der Treiber als „Cesys CeUsb2 (unconfigured)“ bezeichnet.
    ACHTUNG !:
    Die Installation ist noch nicht abgeschlossen: Der Zustand des Gerätes ist „unconfigured“
  8. Nach dem Anklichen von „Fertig stellen“ wird MobilData nochmals erkannt und die Treiberinstallation fertiggestellt. Hierbei werden die Schritte 3 – 7 nochmals durchlaufen,  wobei am Ende der Installation der Treiber als „Cesys CeUsb2 “ bezeichnet ist.
  9. Nach dem Anklicken von „Fertig stellen“ ist die Installation abgeschlossen und GP MobilData
    Funk ist betriebsbereit.
